Hard work pays off for Chediston Park.

Two years of hard work by Labour Councillors and local residents has paid off in Bestwood.Chediston Vale Park, a much loved community resource, has been in need of investment for some time and it has been announced that it will receive £200,000 to improve the facilities there.

In May 2007 the Labour Party in Bestwood promised to campaign for such investment until Chediston got the facilties it needed. Bestwood Labour Councillor Brian Grocock said:”This is a much needed and long awaited facility for the area and was a Manifesto commitment in 2007. We look forward to working with both children and residents to ensure this refurbished play park caters for all ages and abilities.”

The Council will be working with the local community to draw up plans so that works can be completed before April 2009.Initial ideas include providing new playground equipment for younger users of the park as well as equipment for teenagers and improvements to the surrounding area such as planting, new bins, benches and paths.Labour in Nottingham is committed to making sure our green spaces are suitable for the community and Chediston Vale is just one of up to 30 playgrounds part funded by this award between now and March 2010.
