Labour Leader of Nottingham City Council, Jon Collins, visited the Bulwell Hall Healthy Living Centre and then did a tour of the area with local Ward Councillor Ginnie Klein. Commenting on the well-used facility which was funded through the Healthy Living Lottery Fund, Jon said he was really impressed by the range of health and community services and facilities which the Centre was offering to local residents.
They are seen here viewing the new extension to the Bulwell Hall Golf Club Pavilion and outside some new Small Business Enterprise Units on the edge of Bulwell which will provide much needed workspace and employment opportunities in the area. Both projects have been possible because of good partnership working and funding arrangements between the Council and other public and private sector organisations.
During the tour Jon and Ginnie also visited the Rufford Walk and Ginnie praised the work of the local active Tenants and Residents Association but also highlighted a couple of problems with empty shops which she asked the Leader of the Council to take up on her behalf.
