Mick Newton, a member of your Labour Local team in Basford, has been fighting for new investment into local parks… and now he wants your help!
“Our parks have great potential as areas of Community Recreation and improve our quality of life in numerous ways. However, I know from talking to residents that some parks need a good tidy up, new investment and regular policing to minimalise vandalism. I have been in contact with the local authorities about Heathfield and Vernon Park resulting in new investment totalling £1.5m, with work due to commence in April and September respectively, but now we need your help to determine your priorities for other public open spaces. We are now looking into improvements at Greenwich Avenue/ Mill street, but I would be very interested to hear your thoughts.”
We are also keen for you to identify the hot spots where vandalism and anti social behaviour are evident so that we may develop a policing plan for all our Parks and community resources.”
Speaking recently Mick Newton said “Vandalism is not just mischievous but a crime, too. We need to be vigilant at all times to protect the hard fought new investment.”
